So I Didn't Know What To Title This Because...

Monday, 19 June 2017

Dear family and friends,

Aw, MAN ALIVE!!! I'm going to miss my mission!! I fly home this week. I have LOVED serving here in the Georgia Atlanta mission as Christ's representative. This has been such a joyful time in my life. I've had my fair share of ups and downs. Missions are hard. But it has taught me SO MUCH. I love it. I look back and I see how much I've learned. How much I've grown.

I've faced anxiety, depression, and heartbreak. I've missed my family. I've felt trunky at times (haha). I've been angry, frustrated, and exhausted. I've been sick. I've faced a lot of rejection, been anti-ed, cussed out, and treated disrespectfully. I've been sunburnt, couldn't feel my toes because of the cold, and I've also been drenched many a time with sudden downpours.

But--through all of that, I have come to know my Savior Jesus Christ. Isaiah 53:3-5 describes Him perfectly:

"He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows,

and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.  Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

Our Savior Jesus Christ loves us. He lives. Through Him we can be healed! My favorite scripture in the Book of Mormon states that,
"He doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the

world; for he loveth the world, even that he layeth down

his own life that he may draw all men unto him.

Wherefore, he commandeth none that they shall not

p

artake of his salvation.
" (2 Nephi 26:24)

No matter what rejection we face, no matter how many tears we shed, the Savior feels it. He knows our pains. He knows our worries, our fears, our sorrows, and our griefs. He is devastated when we make mistakes. But His arms are always extended in mercy and love for us. He is always waiting with open arms for us to turn back to Him. To accept Him into our lives. To do our very best to follow Him wholeheartedly.

I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know that He carries our burdens. He frees us. He did face pains. He experienced heartbreak. His body did ache with exhaustion and pain and suffering. He felt the pressure of the adversary. He knew the sorrow of being betrayed and losing a loved one. He did struggle with everyday temptations. He felt grief beyond anything that we could comprehend.

But through it all, through all the miles that He walked in our shoes, through all the suffering He felt, the one thing that carried Him through it all was this--Love. As He suffered in Gethsemane, He saw our faces. Each one of us He knew. He focused on the love that He had for us. And as He did so, the pain decreased. He no longer felt it, for He was given the strength to endure. He himself felt weak and depressed and discouraged. But through it all He relied on His Father in heaven. He relied on faith. He relied on His great love for us.

I testify that Jesus Christ knows you. He loves you no matter what! Please, please turn to Him! (That is my commitment to y'all.) He will free you. He will heal your broken heart. He will help you through your pain. He will give you true joy!

I testify that as you seek to make the Savior the center of your life, you will be filled with pure joy. Your joy will surpass your grief and struggles. And you will experience peace beyond comprehension!

You are SO LOVED! (John 3:16)

Keep smiling, and have a wonderfully blessed week. I love y'all!

We went BOWLING last pday with the STLs! It was so fun! Haha I failed miserably, but that's okay! ;) Can you guess which one is me? (#JemisonStripes)

{Note from Mom:  I had heard that Golf Carts were a big thing in Peach Tree City and Sister Eggett really wanted to ride in one.  So I asked a woman in her mission to see if she could make that happen before she came home.  She totally came through for her and then some!  Carmody even got to drive it!!!}

And The Adventure Continues...

Monday, 12 June 2017

Dear family and friends,

Man alive, I love my mission!! This has been such an amazing experience! I am so thankful for the time I have left to serve. I know that there are miracles ahead!

Last week I shared how Jerrie is on date for baptism. I have seen the attacks of the adversary lately as she's been preparing. IT MAKES ME SO MAD!!! Jerrie is so amazing and I saw so much progression in her. It's been frustrating to see what the adversary does when we give him just a tiny bit of space. Jerrie's health has been really bad lately so we haven't been able to meet with her. She wasn't even able to come to church because of the pain. But things will work out!

We had the privilege of going to a Marvin Goldstein and Vanessa Joy concert fireside yesterday, and while they were speaking, the Spirit helped us to receive guidance for Jerrie. Brother Goldstein is a Jewish convert to the LDS Church. He shared his story with us about how he found the Savior. It was a loooooong process. He told us he went through over 40 sets of missionaries before he finally found the Savior and joined the church. One of the things that he shared is that he has hand many back surgeries and he experiences a lot of pain. But every time he does a concert, the pain is taken away. He explained that "The Spirit is stronger than any pain, any heartache, any sorrow, and any trials we may experience."

This struck me as I realized that we need to be more bold with Jerrie. We need to help her recognize that the Savior will carry her pain and help her through this. And as she is living the gospel in her life (and doing her "spiritual CPR": Church, Pray, Read), she will be given the strength to endure the pain and overcome it!

I am so excited to see where this week takes us. I know that as we are bold and loving in helping others come closer to the Savior, we will find success. We will find joy. And we ourselves will come closer to our Savior!

Y'all, this gospel is true. God loves you. Jesus Christ is our Savior. As we turn to Him, He will help us to find peace and true joy! :)

My invitation to y'all is to seek to have the Holy Spirit more fully in your life. Whether it be by stopping a bad habit that is preventing you from feeling His influence, or whether it be to listen to more wholesome music, or to be kinder to your family members, or something else entirely, the Lord will bless you. As you seek to follow the Spirit, He will guide you and you will find yourself developing a closer relationship with the Savior, and you will no longer need to fear!

Keep smiling, and have an amazingly blessed week full of epic-ness and joy! :) I love y'all!

Homeless Extras

Monday, 5 June 2017

Dear family and friends,

JERRIE IS ON DATE FOR BAPTISM!!!
She is progressing rapidly and she is coming closer to the Savior! I love seeing her dedication to the Lord. Yesterday, she sent us a text telling us that "the devil isn't gonna win" and she was stronger than him through the Lord! She is so faithful and I've seen her grow as she's been learning more and applying what she learns. And she told us the other day that her husband, Angel, is loving the lessons! He is normally super shy and silent during the lessons, so we had been worried that he wasn't interested, but she told us recently that after we leave, he talks her ear off about the lessons and he is always so excited! :)

Life is good, God is good!

Speaking of which. God sent us a tender mercy on Saturday! :D
Most of y'all know how much I love theatre. It is a big passion of mine! And GUESS WHAT?!

We were doing service at Bridging the Gap (a soup kitchen and humanitarian aid center), and suddenly noticed some cameras... And then found ourselves being filmed for a movie! The actors jumped in and started "helping" us hand out food. When we finished with our service for the day, they asked us if we would like to be extras! So guess what? We're famous! ;)

The short movie is called "The Dollar Bill Theory" and it is going to be sent in for a competition! We played the roles of homeless people, and people in a cancer walk. It. Was. Epic! :D

And two cool things from it! We still got to wear our name tags during the cancer walk scene! And we had opportunities to share the gospel with some of the actors! :)

Evidence included below. :)

So, great week! God is good! He's been sending us so many miracles! :)

Keep smiling!

LIMBO (But It's Okay ;))

Tuesday, 30 May 2017

Dear family and friends,

I feel... weird. Like I'm in limbo all the time. Life is amazing, God is good, and the gospel is so true! So why feel so weird?

We've been working hard and doing our best to assist the Lord in this great work. But something I've noticed about my last transfer is that I just feel weird all the time. I don't really know how to explain it. I love my mission and I'm so happy. But I'm also feeling ready to go home. #trunky ;)

But really. There comes a time to move on. God has helped me along this incredible journey, and now He is slowly transitioning me into a new one!

This has been an incredible journey. I love what I've learned (and the things I'm still learning)! I love my companion (#greeniefire)! And I truly love the Lord. He is so good.

This gospel is true! I have seen it bless and change lives! This past week, we were able to visit with Jerrie, a headquarter referral (I think I talked about her last week). She is so amazing! We were bold in inviting her to church, and guess what?! SHE CAME! Finally, after what seems like ages, someone came to church!!! :D

And it was literally perfect timing. We were asked to sing a trio in sacrament meeting ("Come Thou Fount/If You Could Hie To Kolob" medley), and Jerrie was a little late in arriving. At first, we didn't think that she'd show up. But then she texted us in the middle of sacrament saying that she was on her way!! She arrived just before we got up to sing. God has incredible timing!!

It was interesting to see the difference in her as we walked with her to her car (she had to leave early). Before, she had looked nervous. But as she was leaving, there was a sense of peace about her. She was calm and was filled with light. It is amazing what church does for us, even if we just come for a short time.

Jerrie didn't stay the whole time, but I know that even in that short time she was changed. She was filled with the Spirit, and she could feel of God's love for her!

That is the blessing of coming to church. Every time, we will be filled with God's love, for He is proud of our efforts to follow Him. He wants us to be happy and to feel the joy of the gospel. He does this through our faithful efforts, and through the Holy Spirit. As we seek to fill our lives with the light of the Savior, we will be lifted. We will be freed. And we will find peace. I testify of that!

My invitation to y'all is to go to church this week with sincere, real intent. Go with a question in mind. Go to help others. I testify to you that as you do this, you will receive the guidance you are seeking, and you will find peace of heart and peace of mind. That is a blessing of the gospel! :)

Keep smiling, and have a blessed week. STAY STRONG! :)
